Frequently asked questions

What does an infant session look like?

Each visit is in your home, and is very gentle, baby-led, and completely at your child’s pace. We will focus on helping your baby feel safe, comfortable, and supported. I use a blend of infant physical therapy, craniosacral therapy techniques, and feeding-supported care while you stay involved and empowered throughout the session. I will also provide a personalized home program for you and your baby to use beyond our sessions!

How do I know if my baby needs this type of support?

Parents often come to me for their baby’s tension, which can consist of muscle tightness/restrictions, difficulty moving or settling, feeding challenges, tongue-tie–related concerns, trouble turning their head to both sides, or just a sense that “something feels uncomfortable” in their baby’s tiny body. You don’t need a prescription or order to see me, just simply contact me, and we can start this journey for you and your baby.

Do you take insurance?

I am a cash-based practice and do not bill insurance directly, which allows me to provide longer, individualized, unrushed care without the limitations of insurance. Your convenience and accessibility are very important to me:

  • I accept payment through HSA/FSA cards, as well as cash, and credit card. (Please check your individual HSA/FSA plans if you have questions on coverage).

  • Upon request, I can provide a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits.

  • A Good Faith Estimate is also available for all families, as there are no surprise costs or bills.

  • Payment is due at time of service.

How many sessions will my baby need?

Every baby is wonderfully unique, so the number of sessions can vary. After our first visit, I’ll have a clearer picture of what your little one needs. Some infants may need only one or two sessions, while others benefit from more sessions to support steady process. You’re always in control of how many visits feel right for your baby and your family, and you can also contact me on an as-needed-basis, whenever you’re ready for another follow up.

What Should I have ready for the Session?

We can use anything that helps your baby feel secure—favorite swaddles, bottles, pacifiers, or comfort items. If baby is hungry, you’re absolutely welcome to feed as needed during the session. I encourage caregivers to wear something comfortable, as we do a lot of hands-on, nurturing work together.

How long are sessions?

Initial visits are typically longer (90 minutes) so we can fully understand your baby’s needs, your goals, and your development or feeding concerns. Follow-ups are shorter (60 min for a typical follow up and 90 min for mom + baby follow up) and will focus on continued progress, treatments, comfort, and parent guidance.

Will my baby be uncomfortable during treatment?

I totally understand if you are wondering this! Your baby will not be uncomfortable during our sessions. Everything I do is gentle and supportive, and to help soothe any tension or discomfort your baby is going through. I follow your baby’s cues closely, and we only move forward when they feel settled and calm. Parents often notice their baby relaxing, releasing tension, improving mobility, or feeling more comfortable during feeds as we work together.

Can I be involved during the session?

Absolutely! You’re such an amazing part of your baby’s care and journey! I guide you through techniques, hold space for your concerns, and make sure you feel confident supporting your baby beyond our sessions. I am also here for you if you have any lactation or breastfeeding questions, and I always want you to feel supported and seen.
